Digital Images and Printing Permission: What Your Collection Includes

A digital-image collection and a package of printed photographs are different purchases. Clear printing permission helps families know what they can make themselves and which products are ordered through the studio. Orange County Portraits includes the listed edited digital images and defined personal printing permission with each collection. Physical products are purchased separately.

The included images are edited digital photographs

Essential includes 10 edited images, Signature includes 25, and Complete includes 40. These are finished photographs, rather than RAW camera files or every frame taken during the session. The curated gallery is the place to choose the included photographs.

The collection price also reflects the session itself, the editing, and the defined personal-use permission. Permission does not mean that physical prints are already included or that copyright has been transferred.

Small paper prints and holiday cards are permitted

Clients may order standard photographic paper prints up to 8×10 inches for personal use through a printer of their choice. They may also design and order holiday cards through their preferred provider. The studio does not require holiday-card orders to go through the business.

Studio-designed holiday cards and small prints remain optional. If a printer asks for a release, keep a copy of the accepted agreement and its printing-permission section with the image files.

Other physical products go through the studio

Larger photographic prints, albums, canvases, wall art, and other physical photo products are ordered through Orange County Portraits. This gives the studio oversight of color, cropping, materials, and finish. Product prices and ordering details are reviewed separately before purchase.

A third-party print lab may automatically crop or adjust a file. Check previews carefully for permitted small prints and cards. The studio cannot oversee the materials or color decisions of an outside provider.

Understand upgrades and other uses

A full finished-gallery upgrade includes the additional photographer-selected finished images in the delivered gallery. Its size varies and is shown before purchase. It does not include tests, missed focus, unfinished frames, repetitive photographs, or RAW files. The same personal printing terms apply.

Copyright remains with the photographer. Advertising, resale, and other commercial use require separate written permission. For a particular use or a product that is not clearly covered, contact the studio before ordering rather than assuming that a download provides unlimited rights.
