Healing Garden

by Teya on March 10, 2007 in teyaphoto stuff

I took a visit today to the Virginia Thurston Healing Garden, a place that
provides therapy for women dealing with breast cancer in an environment that
allows them to connect with nature and other women experiencing the same
things. I had the pleasure of
photographing the director and her executive assistant for their upcoming
event, Wine Women and Shoes.

I had a great time with these two vivacious ladies! Although
we got some more traditional headshots, like this one of Betsy, it was great to
capture a few moments to show how warm and friendly these ladies are.

Baby Special!

by Teya on February 15, 2007 in teyaphoto stuff

At three months they push up and flash that gummy smile, at six months it’s a social honeymoon – babies are great!  I haven’t photographed nearly enough babies, so during the winter months I’m offering 50% off the session fee for babies between the ages of three and ten months.  Email me at teya@teyaphoto.com to book your baby’s session soon – offer expires March 31st.

Back to reality

by Teya on January 30, 2007 in Teya's Life, teyaphoto stuff

We are back from our week in sunny Florida and getting slowly adjusted to the frozen north.  It would be great if there was actually enough snow for my daughter to play in (she kept calling the sand on the beach "snow").  In celebration of winter, email me at teya@teyaphoto.com and let me know some of your favorite winter activities to do with your children or ask your child what their favorite thing about winter is and relay the info to me.  I will post some of the answers on the blog and give my favorite a Starbucks gift card! :)

Here is a snap of the great view from our hotel balcony.  It’s great to be home, but I do kind of miss that warm sun…

Trampoline Kick

by Teya on January 10, 2007 in headshots, teyaphoto stuff

Maybe it’s because I always wanted one growing up (and never had one), but today’s shoot featured another trampoline.  The beautiful and talented Sam was up for some jumping shots, so I snapped some while she used the opportunity to warm up (I think it would have otherwise been too cold for an outdoor shoot today!).

Sam needed headshots (she’s an actress), so here’s a sample of one.  I love working with babies and children, but sometimes it’s so great to have someone who will hold still :)

Personal Photographers

by Teya on October 28, 2006 in teyaphoto stuff

Check out this article at MSNBC on personal photographers.  I strive to capture real moments during my standard photo sessions, but, as a parent, I know that there are little moments where I find the beauty of childhood emerge that can’t be as planned.  My daughter, who is 18 months, has two recent obsessions: cookies and coloring.  I’m glad I was there, camera in hand to capture both (cookie eating shown below).

If you would like your own personal photographer, you can hire Photography by Teya for a day in the life session (breakfast to bedtime) or a mini day in the life session (4 hours), which both come complete with a professionally printed and bound coffee table book (they are gorgeous!).

If you book one of these sessions within the next 48 hours, the price is only $500 for a mini day in the life, or $1000 for a full day in the life (as compared with $800 and $1500 standard pricing).

All those little moments are precious.  My daughter, pleased as punch (well pear) at what she can now do:
